The Ministry of Environment and Water Wins “Best Application for Smart Devices” at the Arab Smart Government Awards

Designed and developed by LINK Development, The ‘Best Application for Smart Devices’ award was given in recognition for the successful deployment and launch of the Ministry of Environment and Water innovative mobile applications. 

(Dubai- UAE, 2014) – The Ministry of Environment and Water wins “Best Application for Smart Devices” at the Arab Smart Government Awards held in Kuwait on March 18th under the patronage of the Minister of the State of Kuwait for the Council of Ministers, Sheikh Mohammed Abdullah Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah and in collaboration with the Central Agency for Information Technology and the State of Kuwait. The M-Environment mobile application was developed and implemented by LINK Development, a leading technology solution provider across the Middle-East and a subsidiary of OTVentures.

The ‘Best Application for Smart Devices’ award was given in recognition for the successful deployment and launch of the Ministry of Environment and Water innovative mobile applications. The mobile government (m-gov) framework was first designed in response to the directions of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, who called on all government entities to deliver their services to the public through mobile phones and devices, setting the stage for the transformation from eGovernment to mGovernment.

The M-Environment app garnered overwhelming response from its subscribers with more than 92% satisfaction rate. From one single platform customers can access a wide range of more than 100 services as well as other informative & interactive features. Customers can fully complete their requests on their mobile devices without the need to visit any service center or even use their personal computers. Certificates are issued without manual intervention or approvals. Customers can also monitor the progress of their requests as well as follow up on their applications using their Twitter accounts. Additionally, customers have the ability to communicate directly with backend employees for any inquiries regarding their pending requests as well as give feedback of their satisfaction level from the offered service.

The Ministry offers all its services to citizens 24*7 from any web-enabled device, the mobile application is available on the most popular platforms (Apple iOS, BlackBerry, Android & Windows Phone). The app is empowered with a robust smart risk engine which automatically calculates the status of issuing a permit. Giving customers the ability to generate such permits quickly with keeping the government procedures strong and secure, enables a larger number of people to have access to the ministry’s services in a timely manner using their mobile devices. The initiative will help reduce time, improve efficiency, transparency and quality of service

The M-Environment was awarded GISEC I.T. Security Award 2014 for “Best Endpoint & Mobile Device Security Implementation”. Moreover, it was one of the top 5 nominees in the mGov award for the UAE federal government. M-Environment continuously records full scores in TRA evaluation rounds.
